Over at Bicycling Australia, contributor Peter Maniaty has been putting the new Cervélo Soloist (2027) through its paces.
The Soloist has returned with a serious refresh, taking plenty of learnings from Cervélo’s high-performance S5 and R5 models to create an aero all-rounder aimed squarely at serious amateur riders.
So, what did Peter make of it? Here’s the quick rundown:
The new Soloist is lighter, more aero and faster than its predecessor, with an updated frame, refined tube shapes and an 8.6-watt reduction in claimed bike-only drag. It also gets increased tyre clearance up to 36mm, fully internal cable routing and Cervélo’s sleek HB18 one-piece carbon cockpit.
Out on the road, Peter found it stiff, agile and super efficient at speed, with impressive acceleration and a clear preference for smoother roads and fast riding. The takeaway? A seriously capable road bike.

And there’s one more reason to know the Soloist…

The frameset will be up for grabs at this year’s Bowral Classic Event Village, so make sure you’re there for the celebrations at Loseby Park on Saturday 17th October. That’s right, one lucky rider will be taking home a Soloist frameset, all thanks to Cervelo.
