Information for the local community about the Bowral Classic on Saturday 16 – Sunday 17 October 2021.

About the Bowral Classic

The Bowral Classic is a road cycling event that takes place in the beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW. The ride incorporates four routes, extending from Bowral to Berrima, Exeter, Fitzroy Falls, Robertson and Kangaloon.

The centre of activity on the day will be the Bowral Classic event village at Bradman Oval, Bowral Please come along and cheer the riders as they cross the Finish Line during the day.

The Event Village will be open from 1:00pm-4:00pm on Saturday, 16 October 2021 for some riders to collect their registration kits. Limited stalls will be open on the Saturday. The full Event Village will be open Sunday, 17 October 2021 from 10:00am-4:00pm and will include live music, a bar, children’s activities, cycling exhibitors and more.

Riders from all over Australia have registered for the event. Many will be staying in the Southern Highlands over the weekend boosting tourism and bringing considerable economic benefits to the local region.

A special thank you to Wingecarribee Shire Council, Destination N.S.W, and NSW Police for their ongoing support and assistance.

When is it?

The Bowral Classic is held on the weekend of 16-17 October 2021.

The award-winning cycling event includes four courses, the 150KM Maxi Classic, the 120KM Challenge Classic, the 85KM Rouleurs Classic and the 35KM Social Classic.

The ride starts at Bradman Oval, Bowral between 6:00am and 8:00am.

The first riders will return to Bradman Oval at 9:00am. The last riders are expected to cross the Finish Line around 4.00pm.

The Bowral Classic Event Village is at Bradman Oval, Bowral.

Open: 1:00pm to 4:00pm
What: Kit collection and event information. Bike mechanics will be available for basic repairs. A limited number of sponsor stalls will be open.

Sunday, 17 October 2021

Open: 10:00am to 4:00pm
What: The event village will be a lively centre of activity and entertainment as riders cross the finish line during the day. All welcome!

Note: The Event Village will be open in a limited capacity on Saturday (1-4pm) and Sunday (6:00am to 8:00am), mainly for rider kit collection. A limited number of cycling stalls will be open on the Saturday.

Start Line

Cheer on cyclists as they depart Bong Bong St, Bowral between 6.30am and 8am.
All riders will head off in 75 second intervals, and head North-West towards Berrima.

6.30am:                Highlanders

6.35am-6.55am150KM Maxi Classic riders  

7.00am-7.25am: 120KM Challenge Classic riders

7.30am-7.55am: 85KM Rouleurs Classic riders 

8.00am-8.15am: 35KM Social Classic riders 

Finish Line

Riders will cross the finish line at Bradman Oval, Bowral between 9am-4pm.

Police will be patrolling the course throughout the day to ensure cyclists and motorists observe all road rules.
