Chris O\u2019Brien Lifehouse<\/a> is Australia\u2019s only not-for-profit, comprehensive cancer centre, housed in a modern building, supported by technology that makes a difference to patient outcomes.<\/p>\n

Around one in two men and one in three women will get cancer. Every year in NSW alone more than 39,000 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed \u2013 that is more than 100 every day.<\/p>\n

Here is what the team at Chris O\u2019Brien Lifehouse have to say\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cOur ultimate aim at Lifehouse, is to establish ourselves at the forefront of cancer care in Australia, with internationally renowned cancer specialists serving patients throughout diagnosis, treatment and recovery.\u00a0 We want to make the lives of cancer patients and their families\/carers easier through finding better cures, detection, treatments, care and ultimately, improved patient outcomes.\u00a0Having all services in one location allows us to do this by putting the patient at the centre of our operations, providing convenient, integrated care and reducing anxiety for the patient.<\/p>\n

We are adding to our capacity all the time. New facilities, such as our cryotanks<\/a> that can freeze and hold up to 10,000 tumour samples, are key to our research future. Realising opportunities for improving efficiency through technology or raising revenue is critical to our ongoing success.<\/p>\n

This year we have made sports fundraising a priority and we are looking forward to expanding our events calendar over the years to give our supporters a range of events they can get involved with, we call this our Challenge Lifehouse series. We want people to take action against cancer.<\/p>\n
