Well-known local cyclist and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bicyclingaustralia.com.au\/news\/inspirational-young-rider-harry-kooros-on-recovering-from-a-serious-training-crash\">Bowral Classic ambassador Harry Kooros<\/a> is one of the the staff members at the store, the likeable young rider thrilled to have a new LBS in his home town.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>To be open 6 days a week from Tuesday to Sunday, owner John McGill said the region was crying out for a high-quality local bike shop.<\/div>\n<div>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3071\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3071\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3071\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bowralclassic.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bowral-3-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3071\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Locals celebrate the opening of the new Fixed Wheel bike store in Bowral.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div>\u201cAfter the McGee\u2019s store shut down 2-years ago I bit the bullet and thought I\u2019ve got to start one up,\u201d said John, prior to the launch of the new store.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cI&#8217;ve got the Fixed Wheel in Manly, and have also lived in the Southern Highlands for 14 years so it\u2019s a natural fit,\u201d he added.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Professional Staff &amp; The Top Brands<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cThe area needs a professional bike shop, professional staff, and people who really know what they are doing. We\u2019ll have Focus, Cervelo, Kalkhoff, Gazelle, Pinarello and Trek. We have a range of road, electric bikes, mountain bikes &#8211; and have demo MTB\u2019s &amp; Pinarellos available to test. We will also be trading in second hand bikes on new bikes.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3073\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3073\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3073 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bowralclassic.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bowral7-1024x607.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"607\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3073\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Fixed Wheel Bowral stocks a wide range of bikes covering all aspects of the sport.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div>Speaking fondly of the Southern Highlands, McGill said the region remains one of the best places to cycle in the state.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cIt\u2019s very safe with less traffic, quiet country roads and some incredible scenery,\u201d he said.\u00a0\u201cI believe it\u2019s a great all-round place to ride &#8211; there\u2019s obviously the sensational road cycling and also plenty of world-class mountain biking.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><em><strong>The new Fixed Wheel store is located at The Village on Kirkham Road,\u00a0Bowral. Opening hours are 9am-5pm Tuesday to Sunday.
