Think back to when you were a kid \u2026 the vast majority of readers will remember an easier, simpler and less stressful life. Just like adult life in this fast-moving modern world, today\u2019s children are under an enormous amount of pressure. This is where Bowral Classic charity partner KidsXpress comes into the equation.<\/p>\n
KidsXpress is based in Moore Park, Sydney, and work to transform some of society\u2019s most vulnerable members, school aged children to 14 years.<\/p>\n
They offer a range of programmes to help improve children\u2019s emotional wellbeing, they work to break the cycle of trauma, and offer children a better chance to achieve their full potential.<\/p>\n
Working for many years as both a play therapist and in a national suicide prevention role, KidsXpress founder Margo Ward saw first-hand how unresolved childhood trauma could lead to much greater social and psychological problems in adulthood.<\/p>\n

When traumatised children were given the creative and emotional resources to work through problems as they arose, she also saw they were able to turn these challenges into opportunities, building strength, resilience and other life skills that would benefit them into adulthood.<\/p>\n
These experiences and observations were supported by international academic research, and led to Margo establishing the KidsXpress program in 2006 \u2013 to change the life trajectory for children in need.<\/p>\n
The program is a world-first, combining music, art, drama and play therapies into a group therapy model for children. \u00a0Following the success of the early programs, KidsXpress has continued to develop and now helps\u00a0the lives of more than 300 families each\u00a0year.<\/p>\n
