The Southern Highlands is an amazing region known for its sophisticated country charm.<\/p>\n<p>But what is there to do in the region away from the Bowral Classic? We went off the beaten track to find a few of these beauties.<\/p>\n<p><b>Bradman Museum<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Not exactly off the beaten track but a must-see for anyone visiting this part of the world. Doubling as the International Cricket Hall of Fame, the <a href=\"https:\/\/internationalcrickethall.com\/the-bradman-museum-is-now-the-international-cricket-hall-of-fame\/\">Bradman Museum<\/a> is a celebration of one of the finest sportsmen in world history.<\/p>\n<p>Not only does the museum pay testament to the Don\u2019s achievements with the bat but also his deep and lasting impact on Australian culture. A symbol of hope for an entire country during the Great Depression, Bradman stands unchallenged as the finest athlete to come from these shores.<\/p>\n<p>Even better, you can grab a coffee and something sweet from the Bradman Cafe afterwards.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7168 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bowralclassic.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/exteriorichof.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"366\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>Image courtesy The Bradman Museum<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Gumnut Patisserie<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Food, glorious food! If there\u2019s just one place you visit during your time in Bowral it simply must be the famous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gumnutpatisserie.com.au\/\">Gumnut Patisserie.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This award-winning establishment is located right on Bong Bong Street and is home to some of the finest pastries, desserts and cakes we\u2019ve ever laid eyes on.<\/p>\n<p>The Bowral Classic personally recommends the vanilla slice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7164 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bowralclassic.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/3_thumb-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"432\" height=\"288\" \/><em><br \/>\nImage courtesy Gumnut Patisserie<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Berkelouw Book Barn<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This one may be a little out of town but it\u2019s certainly worth the trip. Located on the idyllic Bendooley Estate, the <a href=\"https:\/\/bendooleyestate.com.au\/book-barn\/\">Berkelouw Book Barn<\/a> is a reader\u2019s paradise.<\/p>\n<p>Described as \u2018Australia\u2019s most atmospheric bookstore\u2019, the barn houses a wide range of literature, from brand new to much-loved to exceedingly rare.<\/p>\n<p>Throw in the stone fireplace and attaching restaurant and bar and you have a brilliant afternoon outing.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7167 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bowralclassic.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/BookBarn_Dec_2015_web_15-1-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>Image courtesy Bendooley Estate<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Post Office Moss Vale<\/strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-7166 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bowralclassic.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/34794667_1142863645853554_7955036909804191744_n-177x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"167\" height=\"283\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now before you jump to conclusions no this isn\u2019t the actual Post Office! Well, at least not these days.<\/p>\n<p>Located right next to the train station, this trendy cafe occupies the same space as Moss Vale\u2019s former mailroom.<\/p>\n<p>While it may not boast the culinary delights of the Gumnut, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/thepostofficemossvale\/\">The Post Office<\/a> is a relaxed space, perfect for a cuppa and a bite to eat.<\/p>\n<p>It features a mural documenting the building\u2019s history and how important it was to life in the area from 1891 until the 1990s.<\/p>\n<p>Definitely one to check out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><em>Image courtesy The Post Office Cafe<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brewsters Coffee and Record Shop<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One for the music lovers! <a href=\"https:\/\/brewsterscafe.business.site\/\">Brewsters Coffee and Record Shop<\/a> is exactly as it sounds.
