One Australian dies every 12 minutes from cancer. By the end of today, around 330 Australians will have been told they have cancer.<\/em><\/p>\n

Australian charity Cure Cancer is determined to change this by kick-starting new ideas in cancer research. You can help them make this happen.<\/p>\n

When you fundraise for Cure Cancer as a Bowral Classic cyclist, you\u2019re joining their mission to take on every cancer, no matter the size or rarity. This way, you\u2019re helping to save millions of lives, ensuring that no one gets left behind.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was determined to do something to help find a cure for cancer. Unfortunately, cancer affects everyone either directly or indirectly, and finding a cure is the best way to change that narrative. Cure Cancer\u2019s funding for researchers at the start of their career, who are coming into the field with bright new ideas, really resonated with me and I wanted to support their cause for the next generation of young scientists.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Thanks to the support of fitness enthusiasts like you, Associate Professor Orazio Vittorio was able to make a major breakthrough in his childhood brain cancer research. He discovered that removing copper from the blood can destroy some of the most lethal cancers that are resistant to immunotherapy. This research will soon go to clinical trials and offers a glimmer of hope to children with cancer and their families.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, Cure Cancer dares to ask the question that can change everything: What if we cure cancer? With your help, they know they can.<\/p>\n
