For others, it&#8217;s chasing a personal best, riding with friends, or simply enjoying a spectacular day on the bike through the Southern Highlands.<br \/>\nBut for many riders, the Bowral Classic is also an opportunity to ride for something bigger than themselves.<\/p>\n<p>In 2026, we&#8217;re proud to to welcome the<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.llf.org.au\/\">Little Legs Foundation<\/a><\/strong> as an official charity partner of the Bowral Classic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Founded in honour of a courageous young girl named Alegra, the Little Legs Foundation is dedicated to funding vital childhood brain cancer research and bringing hope to families facing one of life&#8217;s toughest challenges. In 2017, Alegra lost her 10-month battle with brain cancer at just six years of age. In the face of unimaginable loss, her family made a remarkable commitment: to create positive change in her honour and help improve outcomes for other children and families impacted by childhood brain cancer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">What began as a family&#8217;s promise has since grown into an incredible movement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6052 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cyclingclassics.com.au\/bowral\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/06\/LittleLegs_120425_1289_73546d3a-f884-40ce-8050-16a4889d7bde_600x.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"351\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Today, the Little Legs Foundation has contributed more than $3 million towards childhood brain cancer research, helping fund innovative projects aimed at improving treatment options, increasing survival rates, and ultimately finding a cure. Along the way, they&#8217;ve built an inspiring community of supporters united by one mission: creating hope for families facing a childhood brain cancer diagnosis. The foundation has even earned a Guinness World Record, bringing together 918 participants to play a special &#8220;Alegra&#8217;s Army&#8221; edition of Monopoly.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6051 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cyclingclassics.com.au\/bowral\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/06\/IMG_9705_25c1bbcf-9e5d-45ca-b384-37213e83fde6_600x-e1782262640346.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"447\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Yet despite advances in research, childhood brain cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related death in children and continues to receive significantly less funding than many other cancers. That&#8217;s why every donation matters. Every dollar raised helps fund research, increase awareness, support future breakthroughs, and provide hope to families navigating an incredibly difficult journey.<\/p>\n<h2>Turn Your Ride Into Something Bigger<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The Bowral Classic has always been about more than kilometres.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Since the inaugural event in 2016, riders across The Classics event series have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities and causes close to their hearts, proving that a day on the bike can create a lasting impact far beyond the finish line.
