Clare Classic supporting partner Zipp have announced the 302 carbon clincher, a high-performance 45mm wheelset that features proven aerodynamic benefits and enhanced stability while remaining nimble on the road. Zipp engineers have fine-tuned these wheels making them ideal for varying wind conditions and mixed terrain – perfect for the Clare Classic!
With replaceable axle end caps, the new Zipp 302 wheels are thru-axle ready. They feature Zipp’s new 76D/176D hubs using Belgian CX-Sprint spokes and brass spoke nipples. The 302 rims are proudly made in the companies Indianapolis factory.
Disc & Rim Brake Models
To keep the wheels light and easy to service Zipp have used a splined brake rotor mounting interface for quick and easy rotor installation and removal on the disc brake version. Add in the 302’s XDR driver body compatibility, and you have a wheelset that can meet the needs of virtually everyone. And like all Zipp carbon clinchers, the 302 uses the same rim bed design that makes tyre removal and installation as simple as possible.
The front wheels weigh in at 740grams (rim brake) and 905grams rear. In disc configuration they weigh a measly 785grams (front) and 910grams (rear). They are the perfect choice for Gran Fondo events such as the Clare Classic and available from your nearest Zipp retailer now.
