Nirvana McBeath is a big name in personal training and she also happens to be addicted to cycling! A proud ambassador for the 2020 Clare Classic, we sat down with her to find out just what makes this such a special Gran Fondo.
Clare Classic: How long have you been involved with the Clare Classic?
Nirvana McBeath: Since the Noosa Classic event last year. I did the 160km course and really enjoyed it. So well organised and a fantastic atmosphere!
CC: What’s your favourite thing about the Clare Valley?
NB: Who doesn’t love the wineries, it’s all about balance, right? Such a pretty course and a great course to do to have a holiday around the area afterwards.
CC: When did you first start cycling?
NB: About four years ago and I admit I’ve become something of a cycling addict. It’s a great way to stay fit and healthy as well as catch up with friends.
CC: Favourite bike?
NB: Liv Envie.
CC: Any advice to riders doing their first Gran Fondo?
NB: Find some friends to train with, have a training plan and on the day smile and enjoy the ride. Nutrition is so very important to a fun day out so make sure you have it sorted and practised. Train as you will ride.
