They’re the talk of the town, enthusiasts and non riders alike are abuzz about the orange bikes popping up all around the Clare Valley region in the lead up to April 8’s Clare Classic Gran Fondo cycling event.
Spending time out on the 160km Maxi-Classic course on a glorious sunny afternoon earlier this week, we were stunned and amazed not only by the many decorative bikes, but also the hay bale signage celebrating the looming cycling event.
The handiwork of the Clare Valley Business and Tourism Association, volunteers have been hard at work ’planting’ the bikes with committee members busily setting the scene, lining the courses with dearly-loved, orange painted bikes at strategic points along the way.
The bikes have been placed right through the region – from Auburn out to Mintaro, through Clare, out at Blythe and right up to Brinkworth.
Registrations are still open for the April 8 Gran Fondo cycling event – Book your place at www.clareclassic.com.au/pricing and we look forward to seeing you there.
