Five months to be exact.<\/p>\n<p>If you haven\u2019t yet signed up or are trying to convince a mate to ride the beautiful Clare Valley in April, here are five reasons to experience a Gran Fondo!<\/p>\n<p><strong>1) Challenge yourself<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Everyone feels great when they reach a goal. Cycling is a fantastic medium by which to set and smash targets. Furthermore, a Gran Fondo is an even better way. Registering for any of the four rides on offer (160km to 50km) sets your target in stone and provides a tangible goal to reach over the coming months.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4765 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clareclassic.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/535-300x192.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"192\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2) Explore an unknown cycling destination<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Clare Valley may not leap into people\u2019s minds when they think \u2018great cycling in Australia\u2019 but don\u2019t knock it until you try it. Located in a world-class wine region, the Clare Classic is certainly one for the bucket list and could give you something to bring up when the conversation turns to \u2018out-there\u2019 destinations.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3784\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clareclassic.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/riesling-trail-3_400_400_c1-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>3) Improve your wellbeing, physical and mental<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Is there any better way to improve fitness other than cycling? If so we\u2019d love to know about it. Cycling is a proven way to improve general fitness, the health of your heart and overall performance of your cardiovascular system. It is also a proven endorphin generator. Bike = Happy<\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-5184 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clareclassic.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC7072-300x210.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"423\" height=\"296\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>4) Country roads, take me home<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Traffic, often it\u2019s the bane of our sport. But pause for a moment and imagine cycling on quiet country roads. It gets better \u2013 you\u2019ll be escorted by local police, followed by support crews, nourished and hydrated at rest stops, and cheered on by enthusiastic event marshals along the way. Sounds like cycling heaven!<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5140 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clareclassic.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC4905-2-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>5) A good cause<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Clare Classic is not just about the cycling, there\u2019s a more significant reason many will be on the start line come Sunday 5 April and that\u2019s the charity factor. This year\u2019s Bowral Classic saw one group, the High Street Flyers, raise $50,000 for Mary\u2019s House in Sydney.
