Strade Bianche a tribute to cycling’s ‘golden age’

A week before the 2019 Noosa Classic Gran Fondo cycling event kicks off there is another ride taking in the beautiful Noosa hinterland.

The Noosa Strade Bianche is an event strictly for steel framed cycles with downtube shifters. As a celebration of the steel framed bike there is no restriction on the age of the frame set.

One look at the Strade Bianche will tell you that it is very much a niche cycling event, aimed towards promoting a renaissance of artisan-built steel frames.

Since debuting back in 2010, the event has grown to become the premier vintage cycling event in Australia. Hosted at the Noosa Marina, it’s a unique experience, a place where you will meet other steel frame aficionados.

Much like the Noosa Classic there are a variety of categories to partake in with the key aim being fun. It’s not a race and the only person you are competing against is yourself.

So, if you find yourself around Noosa the weekend before the Classic then pop in and say hi or if you have a steel framed bike why not partake?
