The third edition of the Noosa Classic has been postponed from August 15, 2021 to October 10, 2021. The Gran Fondo cycling event is part of The Classics series by Bicycling Australia.
The decision to postpone was made due to the evolving COVID outbreak and lockdown restrictions affecting South East Queensland.
This announcement comes after the 2020 Noosa Classic was cancelled due to the COVID pandemic. Classics Founder, James Yaffa, said “While another devastating blow for community events, we are determined to be back stronger, bigger and better than ever in October this year.”
“We understand this date change can prove challenging for our riders and partners, however we are doing our very best to make the 2021 Noosa Classic a reality and their ongoing support throughout these volatile times means a lot.”
Riders who had registered for the 2021 event in August will automatically be transferred to the new event date of October 10, 2021. If they are unable to make the new date, an option for deferral to Noosa Classic 2022 or refund will be offered.
The Noosa Classic is supported by Tourism Noosa and the Queensland Government, through Tourism and Events Queensland and features on the It’s Live! in Queensland events calendar.
In addition to the government partnerships, the Noosa Classic is also supported by international brands such as Volvo, BMC, Cinettica, Deloitte, Fizik, GU Energy, MET, Orbea and Schwalbe.
Local partners include Cycle Closet, Cancer Council Queensland, R&W Noosa Holidays, Sunshine Coast Daily and 92.7 Mix FM.
