Noosa Classic organisers are committed to delivering a sustainable event in 2022.
Organisers are working closely with Tourism Noosa and keen for riders and supporters to help respect the region, minimise waste, and keep Noosa beautiful.
The event is important to the local community and our mission is to leave no footprints, minimise disruption and support the region.
Plastic Free Event
A plastic free event, riders and spectators won’t be supplied with plastic and riders are asked to bring their own refillable water bottle rather than use plastic cups. All vendors and suppliers have also been advised the event is plastic free.
Again for 2022 the popular and efficient Unity Water system has been booked for use and we encourage riders and participants to refill bottles. This large water fill station will be located near the start and finish line areas.
We are committed to the development of a waste-free event and post-event landfill will be minimalised. A local sustainable Waste Contractor will help ensure any rubbish is sorted, separated, recycled or refunded. Ultimately, landfill will be minimised.
You may see Noosa Classic ‘Waste Warriors’ around the course and these Tourism Noosa volunteers will assist with the education of patrons and partners across the weekend.
OzHarvest will collect any left over food and drinks post event so they can be redistributed to those community members in need.
Last but certainly not least, one dollar from every entry goes to Tourism Noosa’s tree rehabilitation program ‘Trees for Tourism’ in partnership with Noosa & District Landcare.
