Le CycloSportif is based in the athletics mecca of Noosa, Queensland. Noosa is a hotspot for runners, swimmers, and cyclists. Owners Greg Ball and Joanna Stewart are both keen athletes who moved to Noosa almost 15 years ago and set up Le CycloSportif in Noosa Junction business district 12 years ago. During that time the business has grown and evolved along with Noosa Junction.
The ‘Junction’ is now Noosa’s trendiest cafe/restaurant/shopping area as all the local businesses have evolved and improved over time. Le CycloSportif has also evolved and is now present on both sides of the main street. LeCyclo Family store opened in December 2018 and is the home of our now extensive hire bike fleets and family bikes. The Junction is just a short walk from Hastings Street, home of Noosa’s beach front hotels.
Le CycloSportif provides products and services to local and visiting cyclists from around the world. We have plentiful free parking in the adjacent Noosa Bus transit centre and our main street corner location and signage makes us easy to find. We have a vast range of quality mountain bike and road cycling products that we have hand picked as the best in the industry. We use our vast experience of training and competing to help guide our product selection and pass this on to our customers. You will get the right product first time. The products are all clearly displayed allowing you to enjoy a casual browse and to select items that met your needs and style.
Our staff are mostly highly experienced cyclists, triathletes and mechanics. Owner Joanna Stewart is a champion age group mountain biker and handy on her road bike. Toby is our master mechanic and excellent criterium and road cycling sprinter. Owner Greg is the current and now three time Xterra world champion, and has plenty of gold medals from road triathlons in his trophy cabinet. Kyle is our marketing and customer service manager. He is a professionally qualified mechanic and loves to share his knowledge with those starting out on their cycling journey. Having two excellent mechanics is a real differentiator for us. We can service almost every aspect of your bike in house. You get a timely turnaround to get you back on the road promptly. Orlando just joined our team this year. He is sixteen and is attending mechanics training at TAFE. Orlando works with us four days per week helping with every aspect of the business.
Over the years we have added to our products and service offerings to meet market demands. In recent years we have embraced E-Biking as the perfect way of travelling around the Noosa biosphere. For our visitors and their families we now have an extensive fleet of E-bikes for hire. They are from the Dutch brand Lekker and the German brand Kalkhoff. Our customers are loving the convenience and ease of exploring the Noosa sights on these fun to ride bikes.
We have continued to grow our large fleet of premium hire road bikes. In addition we are excited to add a guided ride option to ensure you experience the best riding possible in Noosa’s hinterland on your Noosa cycling holiday. You can book any of our hire bikes and tours on our website. You will also find some of our product offerings available there on our online store. Prior to the Noosa Classic we will have our mechancis on hand to reassemble your bike from its travel case, ensuring it is safe and ready for your event. Please ring 07 5447 4477 to let us know your estimated arrival time and to book your bike in for assembly. We can re-pack your bike on Monday for your trip home if you wish.
Here’s a tip for those of you travelling by air to the event. Use a great rear derailleur proctector or remove your rear derailleur from the hanger before packing your bike into its case. You can come and see us at the event venue on Saturday/Sunday at the Le CycloSportif marquee. We will have a range of last minute items available for purchase from the extensive BBB range of accessories. During this time we will be offering test rides on the lastest range of beautiful Italian Bianchi bikes.
