How to explore the Noosa River

The 2019 Noosa Classic Gran Fondo will be an event to remember but the experience isn’t limited to Sunday.

There’s plenty to do in and around the stunning Noosa region and over the coming weeks we’ll be exploring on your behalf!

First up is the Noosa River.

Roughly 60km in length, the Noosa River dominates the region, flowing north to south before emptying into Laguna Bay.

After European settlement the river was primarily used for logging but it has since transformed into a gem of Noosa’s holiday scene.

The river provides spectacular views (especially at sunset), peaceful picnic spots and plenty of eateries dotted along its banks.

Grab some fish and chips and watch the sun go down or take an evening stroll and stop for ice cream.

What else can I do?

For those feeling a little more adventurous there is a plethora of activities to do on the water.

Visitors can hire a jet ski or for a more calming experience why not try out a kayak or paddleboard?

Cruises are offered as well ranging from fully-catered trips to BYO. Sit back and relax as you survey all that the region and its wildlife have to offer.
