A 120km journey through the Noosa hinterland.<\/p>\n<h4>Where am I starting?<\/h4>\n<p>You\u2019ll kick off proceedings in Tewantin, a leisurely 5km stroll from Hastings Street in Noosa. It won\u2019t be long before you leave the coast behind though and enter a diverse and challenging landscape.<\/p>\n<h4>What will I see?<\/h4>\n<p>The Noosa hinterland is one of the most beautiful in the country and not just because of the environment. You\u2019ll pedal your way through ever-changing mountain scapes, enter lush valleys and wizz through historical communities.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitnoosa.com.au\/regions\/noosa-hinterland\">Townships<\/a> such as Cootharaba, Kin Kin and Cooroy all serve as a backdrop to the Challenge Classic. These towns offer a unique insight into Queensland\u2019s colonial heritage with remnants of pioneering industry present even today.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll also find more ancient landmarks with lakes, rivers and forests that supported Aboriginal communities for millennia surrounding you as you ride.<\/p>\n<p>A powerful experience indeed.<\/p>\n<h4>Is there a King\/Queen of the Mountain stage?<\/h4>\n<p>There surely is! The infamous Cootharaba climb is back bringing with it 144m of elevation over 3.3km.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5375 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cyclingclassics.com.au\/noosa\/wp-content\/uploads\/NOOSA-120KM-KOM-2019-1-300x80.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"686\" height=\"183\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>What sort of numbers am I going to rack up?<\/h4>\n<p>The Challenge Classic is 122km long over which you\u2019ll gain 1412m of elevation. The KOM\/QOM section boasts an average grade of 4%, peaking at 9.1%. Over 3.3km you\u2019ll climb an impressive 144m.<\/p>\n<h4>Where can I take a break?<\/h4>\n<p>There\u2019s no doubt your legs are going to be begging for a rest at some stage, no matter how fit you are!
