The Gran Fondo event on Sunday 15 August has also seen a refresh, with the introduction of the exciting new<\/span><span class=\"s8\">\u00a065km<\/span><span class=\"s8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s8\">Rouleurs<\/span><span class=\"s8\">\u00a0course<\/span><span class=\"s8\">. Participants can also choose from the 12<\/span><span class=\"s8\">0km Challenge Classic and 160km Maxi Classic<\/span><span class=\"s8\">\u00a0routes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s8\">Participants will ride through the beautiful Noosa hinterland and surrounding areas such as Tewantin, Imbil, Kandanga, Cooran, Kin\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s8\">Kin<\/span><span class=\"s8\">\u00a0and more. For further community information regarding routes, road closures and more please visit\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.noosaclassic.com.au\/community\"><span class=\"s12\">www.noosaclassic.com.au\/community<\/span><\/a><span class=\"s8\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s8\">A major coup for the greater Noosa region, a third of riders travelled from interstate for the 2019 Noosa Classic with many international participants along with numerous cycling groups making a multi-day to weeklong holiday of it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s8\">T<\/span><span class=\"s8\">he Noosa Classic\u202fis supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland and features on the\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s8\">It\u2019s<\/span><span class=\"s8\">\u00a0Live! in Queensland events calendar.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s15\"><span class=\"s14\">Tourism Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s8\">the Noosa Classic was a highlight on the local events calendar.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s15\"><span class=\"s8\">\u201cNoosa is the perfect location for the Classic,\u201d Mr Hinchliffe said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s15\"><span class=\"s8\">\u201cThe Palaszczuk Government is enthusiastic about investing in events like the Noosa Classic because we know they encourage tourism, support local jobs and our economic\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s14\">recovery plan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s15\"><span class=\"s14\">\u201cIn 2019, the Noosa Classic brought more than 1,280 visitors to Noosa, contributing more than $509,000 to the local economy and welcome media publicity for the region.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s13\"><strong><span class=\"s8\">The 2019 event achieved &#8211;\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"s16\"><span class=\"s14\">\u2022\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s8\">$1.4 million added to the local economy over the event weekend.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"s16\"><span class=\"s14\">\u2022\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s8\">$500 on average was spent by one Noosa Classic rider each day of their stay.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"s16\"><span class=\"s14\">\u2022\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s8\">$1.5 million was total achieved media value.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"s16\"><span class=\"s14\">\u2022\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s8\">And 98% of riders said they would recommend the Noosa Classic to a friend!\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<p class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s8\">Tourism Noosa has also returned as a Major Partner. Tourism Noosa CEO Melanie Anderson said the organisation has been a proud partner of the Noosa Classic since the debut event in 2018.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s8\">\u201cIt is encouraging to see the event evolve and the addition of the new\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s8\">Rouleurs<\/span><span class=\"s8\">\u00a0course will see more riders getting out and about discovering the best of our beautiful Noosa hinterland,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s8\">I<\/span><span class=\"s8\">n addition to the government partnerships, event organisers are thrilled to have international brands such as Volvo, BMC, MET,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s8\">Fizik<\/span><span class=\"s8\">, Deloitte, GU Energy, Schwalbe,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s8\">Orbea<\/span><span class=\"s8\">\u00a0on board.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s8\">Local partners including\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s8\">R<\/span><span class=\"s8\">&amp;W Noosa Holidays and Cancer Council Queensland are also supporting the event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"s9\"><span class=\"s10\" style=\"color: #000000\">About Bicycling Australia<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"s9\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<span class=\"s8\">Bicycling Australia is the nation\u2019s most established and\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s8\">highly respected<\/span><span class=\"s8\">\u00a0cycling media platform<\/span><span class=\"s8\">.
