The third Noosa Classic has finally been held, the popular Gran Fondo cancelled due to Covid in 2020, then delayed by 6-weeks this year.<\/h3>\n

Around 1000 riders took to the start line under perfect Noosa skies \u2013 with waves of riders rolling out for the 160km, 120km and 65km courses.<\/h3>\n

Catching up with some of our Ambassadors, they had some awesome things to share about the event. If you missed out on this year, don’t worry! We’re excited to be back in Noosa next year.<\/h3>\n

Noosa Classic Ambassador Lisa Gatt had a wonderful time and wanted to share this to all riders.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“You’ve out done yourselves.. Great set up, great organisation, great support. Everyone I saw (as much as they were in their own hurt locker) were having fun! The extra hydration stops were the best, including the volunteers pouring the water! Amazing!<\/p>\n

Greg\u2019s 4th Noosa Classic!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Event ambassador, Noosa local and online cycling coach Greg McDermott said it was his 4th Noosa Classic \u2013 although there have only been three.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had a solo spin after the 2020 ride was cancelled due to Covid,\u201d said the\u00a0KOA Sports coach.<\/a> <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cSunday\u2019s conditions certainly were a challenge with an ever-strengthening northerly and a temperature increasing with every stroke of the pedals,\u201d he told us.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut the additional aid station at 100kms was perfectly timed as the thermometer hit 30,\u201d Greg continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe BMC SLR did its thing and it was a super organised event with plenty of volunteers and organisers.\u201d Greg finished by saying he was looking forward to the 2022 event and hopes he may even be able to \u201crip a bit of gravel in the gravel capital of Queensland.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n

‘A Wonderful Event’<\/strong><\/p>\n

Keen rider and first-time Classics participant Gypsy Rose said she revelled in the heat and enjoyed a rewarding day out.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was very well organised, the streets were well-manned and signed,\u201d she told us.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe 65 km course was a challenge especially for a beginner like me. However I made it so it\u2019s all good.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said the rest stops were more than adequate \u2013 \u201cthe cold water, electrolyte drinks, bananas, energy gels and cake as a bonus!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been such a wonderful event,\u201d she continued. \u201cI\u2019d definitely sign up again for next year. Although I have noticed it\u2019s in August. I really appreciate having it in October so it\u2019s warmer there\u2019s least there\u2019s no need for winter warmers.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 4th Noosa Classic will be held on 14, August 2022 with further details announced over coming months.<\/p>\n

Ambassadors Nirvana & Dean had a wonderful day and wanted to share their thoughts on the event.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Thanks for a great day. You guys absolutely nailed and set the benchmark for how to run a bike ride. Seamless from start to finish. Plenty of direction. Great set up at the stops. Traffic control at every turn and tricky decent. Village atmosphere was buzzing.”<\/p>\n
