{"id":2690,"date":"2022-06-10T03:59:08","date_gmt":"2022-06-09T17:59:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cyclingclassics.com.au\/noosa\/2022\/06\/10\/cycling-noosa-our-top-5-rides-around-the-noosa-region\/"},"modified":"2025-03-21T18:19:21","modified_gmt":"2025-03-21T07:19:21","slug":"cycling-noosa-our-top-5-rides-around-the-noosa-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cyclingclassics.com.au\/noosa\/2022\/06\/10\/cycling-noosa-our-top-5-rides-around-the-noosa-region\/","title":{"rendered":"Cycling Noosa: Our Top 5 Rides Around The Noosa Region"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So you\u2019re planning to head to paradise for the Noosa Classic and keen to not only explore the region but enjoy some quality training rides in the lead up to the event \u2026 but where do you begin?<\/p>\n<p>Here are 5 of our favourite rides in and around the Noosa region.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nNoosa To Gyndier Drive And Back \u2013 30km<\/strong><br \/>\nHeading out of Noosa, follow the river through Noosaville and continue on through Tewantin. Keep going along Noosa-Cooroy Rd (there\u2019s a wide shoulder and marked bike lane), until you see the Gydnier Drive sign on the left hand side.<br \/>\nTheres also a sign here directing cyclists to leave the main road. Once on Gyndier you are on a closed road \u2013 it\u2019s a 3km climb to the top and a fantastic training ride. Simply reverse the route to get back to Noosa. Just watch for pedestrians and dog walkers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Noosa \u2013 Cooroibah \u2013 Boreen Point \u2013 Pomona \u2013 Cooroy Noosa \u2013 70km<\/strong><br \/>\nOne of the more popular local rides takes in the relatively quiet country roads just to the north of Noosa and visits Cooroibah, Pomona, Cooroy then back to Noosa via the well-known Gyndier Drive. There is a small portion of gravel in this ride.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9987\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9987\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cyclingclassics.com.au\/noosa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2022\/06\/E5CDC32A-C607-4F49-AA40-34B6E409D8B1-768x499.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"195\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-9987\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9987\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lake Cooroibah is around 10km from Noosa and the perfect destination for an easy morning ride.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Boreen Point &#8211; Out and back<\/strong><br \/>\nDon\u2019t have as much time for the ride above but still want a rewarding spin? Boreen Point and back is a beautiful ride and can be made as easy or difficult as you like. It\u2019s a mostly flat ride of just under 25km and highly recommended.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9819\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9819\" style=\"width: 147px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cyclingclassics.com.au\/noosa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2022\/06\/9A831D8E-D4F4-48F2-B8E3-7C8747C7907E-768x1570.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"147\" height=\"300\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-9819\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9819\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Strava is a wonderful resource for visiting riders and the Noosa region is packed with segments.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Noosa \u2018World Champs\u2019 Course &amp; David Low Way<\/strong><br \/>\nAsk any keen local their top 2 go-to rides and they\u2019ll often start with Noosa\u2019s world famous \u2018The World Champs\u2019 route. This begins and ends at the top of Gyndier just outside Tewantin and is basically the first 20km of the Challenge Classic in reverse, and 25km in length.<\/p>\n<p><strong>David Low Way \u2013 55km <\/strong><br \/>\nThe second is totally coastal \u2013 you can\u2019t get lost and the views are stunning. Sunshine Beach \u2013 Twin Waters return 55km. Just head south from Noosa, past Sunshine Beach and follow the David Low Way south towards Coolum. This is an extremely popular and very scenic route with many bunches along the route most mornings. Warning: You\u2019ll want to stop to take photos!
