Snowy Classic 2025 Cancelled

It is with great regret that The Classics announce the cancellation of the 2025 Snowy Classic road cycling Gran Fondo due to increasing operational event costs.

Making its debut in 2022, the Snowy Classic has become a popular event in the cycling calendar thanks to its stunning location set in the Snowy Mountains of NSW, and the opportunity to ride the region on fully closed roads. Unfortunately, the rising costs associated with hosting such an event have become unsustainable.

Riders registered in the 2025 Snowy Classic will be contacted and processed a refund back onto their original form of payment. For rider enquiries, please contact

“We deeply regret having to cancel the 2025 Snowy Classic, this decision has not been made lightly,” said James Yaffa, Classics Founder. “We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the riders, our funding partner Destination NSW, Snowy Monaro Regional Council, and the amazing volunteers and community at large who have embraced the Snowy Classic and made it so special.

I’d also like to thank The Classics and Bicycling Australia staff, contractors, suppliers, local media, and many individuals who dedicated so much time in making our event so special.”

The Snowy Classic represented the best of Australian road cycling conditions, a special environment that was widely acknowledged and accepted by road cyclists here and overseas.

The event injects over $1.4 million into the local economy each year, with accommodation providers, retail outlets, bars, cafes and restaurants benefiting from the influx of people during the region’s off-season.

The Classics will continue to host the Bowral Classic (20 October, 2024) and Mudgee Classic (3-4 May, 2025) cycling events.
