Every year, Bowral Classic riders take on the challenge for different reasons.
For some, it’s about conquering a new distance. For others, it’s chasing a personal best, riding with friends, or simply enjoying a spectacular day on the bike through the Southern Highlands.
But for many riders, the Bowral Classic is also an opportunity to ride for something bigger than themselves.
In 2026, we’re proud to to welcome the Little Legs Foundation as an official charity partner of the Bowral Classic.
Founded in honour of a courageous young girl named Alegra, the Little Legs Foundation is dedicated to funding vital childhood brain cancer research and bringing hope to families facing one of life’s toughest challenges. In 2017, Alegra lost her 10-month battle with brain cancer at just six years of age. In the face of unimaginable loss, her family made a remarkable commitment: to create positive change in her honour and help improve outcomes for other children and families impacted by childhood brain cancer.
What began as a family’s promise has since grown into an incredible movement.
Today, the Little Legs Foundation has contributed more than $3 million towards childhood brain cancer research, helping fund innovative projects aimed at improving treatment options, increasing survival rates, and ultimately finding a cure. Along the way, they’ve built an inspiring community of supporters united by one mission: creating hope for families facing a childhood brain cancer diagnosis. The foundation has even earned a Guinness World Record, bringing together 918 participants to play a special “Alegra’s Army” edition of Monopoly.
Yet despite advances in research, childhood brain cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related death in children and continues to receive significantly less funding than many other cancers. That’s why every donation matters. Every dollar raised helps fund research, increase awareness, support future breakthroughs, and provide hope to families navigating an incredibly difficult journey.
