Bike Wash Australia is an Australian manufacturer based in the regional seaside town of Warrnambool, Victoria.
The company have successfully designed and manufactured the world famous K9000 Dog wash since 2005, with over 2500 units sold globally. With several passionate cyclists in their team, the natural progression was to turn their attention to designing a unique machine that would provide an all- in-one solution for washing bikes.
With 2 years of development, the team has created 3 models- the Otway Plus, Otway Pro and the new Otway Park. The Otway Pro is the professional workshop version of the machine suited to bike shops while the Otway Plus is setup for unattended outdoor self-service use by paying consumers.
The Otway Park is very similar to the Otway Plus but has a ramp access and larger volume filter system more suited to trail heads & ride destinations that have the space. For busy bike workshops or bike enthusiasts time and efficiency is more important than ever, and that is where this solution really shines.
The machine uses a unique combination of safe, medium pressure hot water (150psi), and automatic soap dosing to create the most efficient and effective bike wash solution on the market. Once the bike is clean, the blow dry function will completely dry the bike and get all those nooks and crannies dry, so it is ready to immediately put in the work stand for servicing or ride off down the road.
The manual wash process averages around 10 minutes from start to finish. The average wash time with traditional methods involve multiple bottles of wash products, sponges, buckets, wet feet and a 30-40 minute task in total.
The unit can also come with a solvent/oil interceptor that filters out the greasy residue before the waste water is safely sent to the sewer point.
The efficiency gains are one thing, but the effectiveness of the wash must be seen to be believed. With their own Bike Wash Australia soap products, specifically created and formulated for the machine- bikes can be safely cleaned and dried by anyone.
The sensitive components of bikes such as disc brakes, carbon fibre etc. are all safe to be given a deep clean in the machine. Bike Wash Australia have also conducted extensive testing washing eBikes, passing every test with flying colours.
The introduction of Bike Wash Australia provides bike shops with an option to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their service department and provides a glimpse at the future of bike cleaning.
Once people have experienced the dynamic clean and efficiency of Bike Wash Australia, they would find it very hard to wash any other way. Look out for a machine at a location near you!
The machine is available for sale for commercial use in bike shops, trail heads, carwashes or even home use if you have a fleet of your own to maintain and want the best tools available at your fingertips.
