Team DHP Take On The Bowral Classic

We are excited to again be partnering with Duncan Hill Property for this year’s Bowral Classic Crit.

We caught up with the team from DHP, who are not only masters of the local Southern Highland’s real estate game, but also gearing up to again conquer the Gran Fondo cycling event of the year!

Here are the team of local champions.

Name: Stuart the Laird Nash

How long have you been cycling? 25 years,

What do you ride & why?  BMC Roadmachine Three. I love its light weight and good looks. And it has just enough onboard tech with Shimano Di2 & disc brakes.

What’s the highlight of Southern Highland Cycling?
The beautiful country landscape with a mixture of hills & flats…it really is such a friendly cycling community

How many K’s per week are you riding? 100-200km

What’s your advice for anyone thinking about riding this year’s Bowral Classic? Wear packable top layers – it always starts cold….but you will be wanting to shed layers in the second half of the event.

 

Name: Geoff The kiwi Jif Duxfield

How long have you been cycling? 20 years.

What do you ride & why? Cervelo Caledonia 5, a tire ‘comfort bike’.

What’s the highlight of Southern Highland Cycling? Riding with like-minded others.

What’s your advice for anyone thinking about riding this year’s Bowral Classic? Just wear something warm at the start.

 

Name: Al numbers Naughton

How long have you been cycling? 52 years.

Why do you ride? For the pure enjoyment of the sport.

What’s the highlight of Southern Highland Cycling? The absolutely breathtaking scenery.

How many K’s per week are you riding? Not enough!

What’s your advice for anyone thinking about riding this year’s Bowral Classic? Make sure you get lots of pre-event training in!

 

Name: Iain T.F.C Falshaw

How long have you been cycling? 15 years.

What do you ride & why? Cervelo Caledonia – it’s my dream bike.

What’s the highlight of Southern Highland Cycling? Mount Gibraltar the iconic, it really is a classic climb.

How many K’s per week are you riding: no more than 200.

What’s your advice for anyone thinking about riding this year’s Bowral Classic? Take your time and enjoy it.

 

Name: Mark Mountain Screen

How long have you been cycling? 44 years.

What do you ride & why?  A Blue Merida Reacto. I cycle for fitness, fun and friendship.

What’s the highlight of Southern Highland Cycling? The scenery, the relatively quiet roads & the friends.

How many K’s per week are you riding? Typically around 160km.

What’s your advice for anyone thinking about riding this year’s Bowral Classic? Don’t underestimate the amount of ups and downs on the route and do some hill training.

 

Name: Duncan Karaoke Hill

How long have you been cycling? 15 years.

What do you ride & why? Specialized Roubaix, Focus 2021 Izalco Max 9.6 Rust Red. The Roubaix for longer distances and hills the Izalco Max for speed and the frame colour.

What’s the highlight of Southern Highland Cycling? Great roads, not much traffic, the views, the company.

How many K’s per week are you riding? 200km

What’s your advice for anyone thinking about riding this year’s Bowral Classic? The Saturday afternoon Crit action is an absolute spectator’s dream. Then on Sunday the Bowral Classic is a standout event, it’s a ‘must ride’ fondo. Register now and don’t miss out!
