Why was the Bowral Classic cancelled?

The Bowral Classic was cancelled as the traffic management contractor did not turn up the morning of the ride.

This was despite thorough planning, a signed contract, consistent communication in the lead up and the week of the event with our traffic management company, all with the correct date.

The traffic management for the Bowral Classic is a huge operation, with over 100 traffic marshals coming from across the Southern Highlands, Wollongong and Sydney.

Without them on course, the event could not proceed safely. More information available here.

Will riders be refunded?

All riders will be refunded their Registration Fee. Day Rider Insurance and/or Highlanders fees will also be refunded, if purchased.

Merchandise items that have been posted or collected will not be refunded.

This refund will go back onto the card you used to pay with when registering.

If you no longer have this card, or it has expired, we will get a notification that the payment has bounced and be in touch to process the refund via bank transfer.

For ease of process, we will not be offering deferrals to Mudgee Classic or Bowral Classic 2025.

If you wish to support The Classic events, we would love to see you at Mudgee or Bowral in 2025. Bowral Classic riders can register with the code “BOWRAL10” to save 10% off their entry fee.

When will I receive my refund?

Close to 3,000 refunds need to be processed manually, so please bear with us.

We are bringing on extra resources to assist in processing the refunds as quickly as possible. We hope to process all by the end of next week (1 November), and the funds should be back into your account within 1-2 business days once processed.

You will receive an email from Race Roster once the refund has been processed.

What will the refund show up as on my bank statement?

The refund should appear as ‘BowralClassic2024’ on your statement.

I purchased Enhanced Refund Protection, will this fee be refunded?

Protecht, who are the third-party who manage the Enhanced Refund Protection offering, have agreed to refund this fee for riders.

They are in the process of refunding this fee and it will show up as a separate refund transaction on your statement.

My entry was transferred from another rider, who will receive the refund?

We will be in touch as we come across these entries. You can pre-emptively get in touch with us at

What is the date of the next Bowral Classic?

Registrations will open in 2025.
