What has changed for the Maxi and Challenge Classic courses?

Now in its fifth year, the Bowral Classic still has a couple of tricks up its sleeve for 2020. 

The Maxi and Challenge courses have both been refreshed, offering riders a new experience come October. Not only that, the rest stops have also been completely revamped! 

Let’s see what’s in store for each new course.

160km Maxi Classic

The new and improved 160km Maxi course will take riders through the rolling hills of Bowral, Berrima, Exeter, Robertson and Kangaloon. Come prepared. During the ride around the beautiful Southern Highlands riders will face a variety of rolling hills, short steep climbs, and beautiful descents. 

Here’s what you need to know: 

  • Date: Sunday, 18 October 2020 
  • Start Time: 6.30am 
  • Start Location: Bong Bong St, Bowral 
  • Finish / Event Village Location: Eridge Park, Burradoo

125km Challenge Classic

Like the Maxi, the Challenge has been upgraded to truly showcase the beauty of the Southern Highlands. Riders will pass through beautiful quaint towns including Berrima, Suttons Forest and Robertson. 

Here’s what you need to know: 

  • Date: Sunday, 18 October 2020 
  • Start Time: 7.00am 
  • Start Location: Bong Bong St, Bowral 
  • Finish / Event Village Location: Eridge Park, Burradoo 

King/Queen of the Mountain

Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for. The 2020 King/Queen of the Mountain! 

This year sees us move away from the infamous Oxley Hill to the imposing Mount Gibraltar. With a total distance of 3.6km and a total gain of 178m it’s sure to push riders all the way especially as it takes place towards the end of the ride.
