Where to find the best fish and chips in Noosa

It’s an Australian tradition to sample the local fish and chip shops whenever you hit the coast and Noosa is no different.

We’ve compiled a helpful guide to where you can kick back and enjoy some local produce before or after the Noosa Classic!

Noosa Boathouse

194 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville

The Noosa Boathouse is a three-level bistro and provides a relaxed dining experience with waterfront views. As well as offering a modern Australian menu there are plenty of seafood options to be found on the specialised Fish and Chips menu.

It’s available as takeaway so you’re spoilt for choice. Whether you want a formal outing or to just put your feet up on your balcony, Noosa Boathouse is a great option.

Noosaville Fish Market

11 Hilton Terrace, Tewantin

An institution around the Noosa area, the Noosaville Fish Market closed it’s doors earlier this year after 60 years of faithful service.

But don’t fear, they have merely relocated! You can find them at the Hilton Terrace Shops in a bigger and better shopfront still serving the traditional fish and chips that generations of locals have grown up on.

Definitely one for visitors to tick off the list!

Maisie’s Seafood and Steakhouse

251 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville

From one institution to another and Maisie’s Seafood and Steakhouse has been around since the 1920s. It saw off the Great Depression and even became a favourite for soldiers stationed in the area during the Second World War.

There’s something for everyone on this menu including the very traditional beer battered fish and chips and fisherman’s basket.

Grab a seat and tuck into a slice of history!

A more modern eatery, Nosh Express is conveniently located on Hastings Street. They offer your traditional fish and chips as well as some monster burgers.

They even do a wide variety of salads which are an important part of their ‘Healthy Food Philosophy’. Nosh also pride themselves on sourcing as many ingredients and produce from Queensland.
