The Oatley family and Craigmoor Wines are delighted to be an official local winery partner of the 2020 Mudgee Classic.
Established in 1858 and surrounded by picturesque vine and gum trees on the banks of Eurunderee Ereek, their cellar door is Mudgee’s oldest winery and vineyard. Originally purchased by the Oatley family in 2005, it has recently returned to its historic name of ‘Craigmoor’.
Situated just a five minute drive from the centre of town, surrounded by vineyards, native trees, a river and a dam, the property features the Craigmoor Cricket Oval, the historic Craigmoor Winery and within it, the tasting room and cellars, a wine museum and art gallery. A wide range of Mudgee grown and produced wines are available for tasting and purchase from the Craigmoor & Montrose ranges.
Wine is ‘in the blood’ of late founder Bob Oatley and his eldest son Sandy, leader of the family business founded upon a four decade passion for grape growing, wine making and marketing – the combination of which has seen the Oatley family rise to the top of the Australian winemaking scene.
With interests spanning the world of competitive sailing, tourism, hospitality and of course, wine – the family produces wines both of immediate appeal and cellar-ability, with satisfying flavours over an elegant frame, under a variety of stylish labels including Robert Oatley, Wild Oats, Montrose and Craigmoor. Theiracclaimed winemaking team are led by Larry Cherubino, with Debbie Lauritz as head winemaker at Mudgee winery.
Mudgee is their home and they look forward to welcoming you in 2020.
