First-time riders Dan and Declan take on the Mudgee Classic for a cause close to home.
Together, Team Roz have raised an incredible $10,000 for MND Research Australia, inspired by a woman whose strength will fuel their ride – Rozanna Wise, the mother of their respective partners, who has been bravely battling Motor Neurone Disease for the past five years.
Riding With Purpose
The decision to ride in the Mudgee Classic was an easy one, not only for the cause but because of the location. “Rozanna has called Mudgee home for decades,” Dan shares. “It’s a place filled with memories and meaning for our families. That made the event feel like a perfect fit.”
“We are fundraising for MND Research Australia,” says Dan. “It’s a charity very close to our hearts. Rozanna is still fighting, and this is our way of honouring her strength and helping others who are living with the disease.”
Neither Dan nor Declan has participated in the Mudgee Classic before, but that hasn’t stopped them from getting a feel for the road. “We’ve ridden some of the route already, and we’re really looking forward to the event on May 4th”
“Every kilometre we cover will be for Rozanna. She’s shown so much strength over the years, and we hope to channel that spirit into our ride.”
