Behind every rider crossing the finish line, every well-stocked rest stop, and every encouraging cheer from the roadside, there’s a team of dedicated locals helping bring the Mudgee Classic to life.
Our volunteers are the backbone of the event and it’s the support of groups like the Mudgee Bushwalking & Bike Riding Club that makes the weekend so special.
With around 70 members, the club is all about getting people outdoors, building fitness and fostering friendships through walking and cycling experiences across the Mudgee region and beyond.
For the club, being part of the Mudgee Classic is about more than just lending a hand. It’s a chance to contribute to something meaningful in their local region, while being part of an event that aligns closely with their values. And, just as importantly, it’s a lot of fun.
To get a closer look at the people behind the high-vis vests and roadside cheers, we caught up with Bill from the Mudgee Bushwalking & Bike Riding Club to hear what being part of the Mudgee Classic means to their group.
