About The Mudgee Classic

The Mudgee Classic is a cycling event that takes place in the beautiful wine region of Mid-West NSW. The event consists of the Dirty Mudgee Gravel rides on Saturday, 2 May and the Gran Fondo Road rides on Sunday, 3 May 2026.

The Dirty Mudgee Gravel courses showcase Mudgee’s spectacular rural scenery, the region’s impressive vineyards and iconic Australian country landscape. There are two distances on offer – the 90km Grit Classic and the 55km Dash Classic.

The Gran Fondo Road courses incorporate four routes, passing through Mudgee to Eurunderee, Gulgong, Ulan and more- the 170km Maxi Classic, 120km challenge Classioc, 65km Rouleurs Classic and 35km Social Classic.

The centre of activity will be the Mudgee Classic Event Village at Glen Willow Regional Sports Complex, Mudgee. Please come along and cheer the riders as they cross the Finish Line.

The Event Village will be open from 11am – 4pm on Saturday, 2 May and 10am – 4pm Sunday, 3 May. There will be live music, market stalls, children’s activities, cycling exhibitors and more.

Riders from all over Australia register for the Mudgee Classic. Many will be staying in Mudgee over the weekend boosting tourism and bringing considerable economic benefits to the local region.

A special thank you to Mid-Western Regional Council, Mudgee Tourism, Destination NSW, and NSW Police for their ongoing support and assistance.

SATURDAY, 2 MAY 2026:

The Dirty Mudgee Gravel rides will depart from Cooyal Hall between 9.30am – 9.45am.

There are two courses on offer which feature the best of the Mudgee region’s all-road cycling – the 55km Dash Classic and 90km Grit Classic.

Riders are expected back through the finish line at Cooyal Hall between 11:20am – 3:25pm.

SUNDAY, 3 MAY 2026:

The Gran Fondo Road event includes four courses- the 170KM Maxi Classic, 120KM Challenge Classic, 65km Rouleurs Classic and the 35km Social Classic.

These rides start on Church St, Mudgee (outside St Marys Catholic Church) between 7:00am and 8:30am.

Riders are expected back through the Finish Line at Glen Willow Regional Sports Complex, Mudgee between 10am – 4pm.

* Traffic will flow through Mayne St, Gulgong in a one-way direction only travelling the same direction as riders.

* Detours will be in place between Nandoura St and Medley St, businesses in Mayne St will be open and accessible as per normal Sunday trade.

Cheer on cyclists as they depart from Church St, Mudgee between 7:00am and 8:30am.

What: Registration kit collection and event information. Bike mechanics will be available for basic repairs. A limited number of sponsor stalls and food vendors will be open.

Open: 10:00am to 4:00pm
What: The Event Village will be a lively centre of activity and entertainment as riders cross the finish line throughout the day. All welcome!

Parking spots are available at these areas:

GLEN WILLOW REGIONAL SPORTS COMPLEX
Ulan Rd & Pitts Lane, Mudgee NSW 2850
This is the recommended parking spot as there is
a cycle path direct to the Gran Fondo Start Line on Church St.
Distance to the Start Line is 1.5km.
No parking along Pitts Lane within Glen Willow.

ADDITIONAL PARKING
Mudgee Council Carpark – 51 Short St, Mudgee
Byron Place – off Perry St, Mudgee
Both parking spots are 500m from the Gran Fondo
Start Line and 1.5km from the Event Village at Glen Willow.
These sites are expected to fill fast so please be
aware you may need to park elsewhere.
