Age

All participants must be aged over 12. Riders aged between 12-16 years old must be accompanied by an adult throughout the ride and require a valid AusCycling Race Licence (excluding 35km Social Classic riders) which must be entered upon registration and shown on the event day.

Cancellations

Riders that purchase Enhanced Refund Protection at the time of registration will be eligible for a refund. This cannot be added retrospectively after registering. Enhanced Refund Protection is offered through a third-party, PROTECHT. All refund requests must be submitted via the PROTECHT portal. For more information, click here.

For riders who do not purchase Enhanced Refund Protection, cancellations that are received by 9 March 2025 will be offered a deferral to Mudgee Classic 2026. No refunds or deferrals will be offered for cancellations received after 9 March 2025 without Enhanced Refund Protection. Deferral requests can be sent to

and once approved are valid for one year only.

We respect and understand that from time to time some riders will be unable to participate due to illness, often at late notice. This is why we offer Enhanced Refund Protection at the time of registration.

Your support goes towards the high operating costs of each event where supplier’s fees & charges are typically paid prior to the event date. As such, we are not able to offer refunds as we want each event to be viable and enjoyable now and into the future.

You can transfer your registration to another person if the request is submitted at least 7 days before event day. It is the rider’s responsibility to transfer the Rider Identification Assets if the registration kit has already been mailed out. In the case of a refund needing to be processed, e.g. due to an event cancellation, the original rider will be refunded.

Should the Event Organisers cancel the event due to adverse weather conditions or a pandemic, all riders will be given a 50% refund.

The event could be modified or cancelled if the Bureau of Meteorology predicts;

  • • Continuous rain in excess of 20mm/h that could possibly lead to flash flooding.
  • • Winds greater than 45km/hr.
  • • Temperatures above 35 Degrees Celsius.
  • • Lightning on course at any stage of the event.

If any of the above conditions are experienced in the lead up or during the event, a decision will be made by Event officials in conjunction with key stakeholders. All participants will be notified by email and text message.

Any merchandise purchased will not be refunded.

Credit card fees and any associated travel costs are not refundable by the Event Organisers.

Any purchases made through a third party, such as PROTECHT (Enhanced Refund Protection) and/or charity donations, are not refundable by the Event Organisers.

If you wish to transfer to a different ride category, please email

. No refunds are made when transferring from a category of a higher value to a category of a lesser value.

Rider Timing & Protest

The 2025 Mudgee Classic will not provide official event timing.

Riders are encouraged to track their performance via Strava. Strava is the world standard in cycling timing and is used by a huge percentage of recreational and professional riders.

Note: The Mudgee Classic is a ride not a race.

Bike Requirements

eBikes will be permitted in all events at the Mudgee Classic. The eBike option must be selected when registering for the event.

All eBikes must adhere to Australian eBike Standards. No modified eBikes will be allowed to participate on course. It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure they have sufficient batteries to complete the ride.

Aero/TT bars are not permitted.

Time-trial bikes are also not permitted.

Insurance

All event participants must be covered by valid Riders Insurance.

If you do not hold valid Riders Insurance (e.g., via an AusCycling membership or another third party) a $10 insurance fee will be charged upon registration. This will cover you with Rider Sports Personal Accident Insurance by AON for the event day. Click here for AON Insurance FAQs.
