Mudgee – it will be absolute cycling central come early May with well over 1000 riders plus their families heading to the heritage centre for the inaugural Mudgee Classic.

How To Get To Mudgee
Once you have accomodation sorted the next step is to start planning the trip and looking at the best ways to get to Mudgee in May.
Many will be coming from Sydney, some 268km or a 3.5 to 4 hr drive. There are two options – Bells Line of Road or the Great Western Highway. The Mudgee turn off is just past Lithgow, then follow the picturesque Castlereagh Highway and look for the Mudgee signs.
From Newcastle
From Newcastle travellers are treated to the stunning Bylong Valley Way – a memorable drive via Maitland, Denman & Sandy Hollow. Allow 4hrs for this drive more if you want to stop at the historic villages along the way.
Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange & Tamworth
Part of the ‘Golden Triangle’ of the Central West, many will also be making a beeline to Mudgee from the regional centres of Bathurst, Dubbo and Orange plus of course Tamworth to the north.

- Tamworth – 3 hours 15 minutes (via Black Stump Way)
